Notes
Short updates, links, and thoughts that do not need to be full blog posts.
I started changing the tyres on my bike today. It was 30°C and took me nearly 2 hours just to get to the stage where the old tyres were off the wheels. I was sweaty!! I’m waiting on new valve stems so it’s still in progress.

It needs some style tweaking etc too, but I'm pretty happy with it!
I added a notes section to my website that mirrors all of my posts from #Mastodon. Right now it hot links media etc, but I'm working on self hosting that tool.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
I adjusted the valves on my bike today. I’d never done it before. Other than being a little fiddly it wasn’t too bad.

The guy I bought it from was 72. He’d owned the bike from new and used it to run a deliver service when he was younger. He was a lot of fun to chat to. He still regularly rode it on local trails. #BikeTooter #bicycle
I acquired this little beauty today. It’s a 1992 Bridgestone MB-5 that the previous owner had done some nice mods on. #BikeTooter #bicycle

I can’t believe #Anthropic released Fable 5 before #Xbox released Fable 4
Here’s another photo #yamaha #xs650 #motorcycle #motorcycles #motorbikes

After a little bit of work, I got the #yamaha #xs650 up and running pretty well. It carried me 50 miles on a local loop up over some of the eastern Oregon mountains. I definitely fell off once on a gravel road doing about 3 mph but the only thing that got hurt was my ego. Not bad for a 50 year old bike.
They grow up so fast #Steam #SteamController

I bought a 1978 #Yamaha XS650 a few weeks ago. It has sat in a garage for 20 years and was in insanely good shape. It still needs some love though. Started this weekend by pulling the carburettors off.

Happy Valentine’s days! Ellie and I had a photo shoot recently and Guinness, our cocker spaniel, stole the show.

I got a new watch. This is a Seiko 5 GMT field watch. It’s the first automatic mechanical watch I’ve owned and I love it! #WristCheck #watches

I completed #TheLegendOfZelda #TwilightPrincess last night. It definitely feels like a polished version of Ocarina of Time. The dungeons weren’t my favourite in the series, but everything else was perfect.
The final game I need to play though is Majora’s Mask!
I've been playing games on a #linux #nixos gaming pc for a while now and there is no way I can see myself ever going back to console. Sure there is a little more tinkering involved, but there is so much freedom.
Here is a screenshot of #TheLegendOfZelda Twilight Princess. It's running at 4k and at 60fps using frame generation. There is just no way to do this other than with a PC.

We went Christmas tree hunting today and Guinness had a blast in the snow
Trialing it with an old #Timex Weekender I’ve had for years.

I think I’m going to stop using my #Apple Watch and get a real watch. I don’t want to have to replace it every few years. I’ll miss the health and fitness data though. Has anyone else made a similar switch?
I recently bought Yooka-Replaylee on steam. If you enjoyed N64 collectathons like #BanjoAndKazooie or the #Spyro games you’ll love it.

What kind of evidence would it take for you to change your mind? If you don’t ask this of yourself you don’t have beliefs, you have an ideology.
Changing your mind when you get new information is what you’re supposed to do, even if you don’t like the new information.
I am fighting the urge to buy a motorcycle
Now that #GitHub is starting to fall out of favour when we’re building replacements can we move beyond the pull request? I want single commits as the reviewable unit of work. They can be stacked, but reviewed and merged independently.
