Has anyone come across a React library for wrapping controlled inputs and giving them an uncontrolled like API?
I know they’ll still be controlled and I will eventually replace them, but I’m going though a refactor and they aren’t the important part right now.
This is a great website!
I just got Legend of Zelda - Windwaker HD running on my #SteamDeck. It’s fair to say I have my weekend plans sorted.
This is really interesting commentary on the #CrowdStrike issue from last week. Almost all online games use some form of anti cheat software which also runs at the kernel level.
I’ve been playing the most recent Ratchet and Clank game and I’m having a blast. It’s making me nostalgic for spending my entire summer playing PlayStation games with my friends.

Solid is very cool! If you work in the front-end space, it is definitely worth checking out!
I installed some emulation software on my MacBook and I’ve been able to play through the N64 version of Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time. It is one of the all time greats. I was even able to install a 4k graphics mod.
It’s June, what are we getting hail?!

The opening is quite possibly the best thing I have ever watched #wwdc2024
@joel tell me about these Miyoo consoles. How do they work, what can you play on them and how do you get games? I see you posting about them regularly and I am curious!
I've worked with Toby for many years across a variety of different projects and would do so again in a heartbeat. He's effective, efficient and he sometimes tells jokes and no extra charge.
If you're looking for someone to work on anything Ruby, or anything web, give him a shout.
I'm applying and interviewing at a bunch of places right now. Having gone through a bunch of technical interviews, I'm pretty familiar with how they work and what you get asked.
I'm working with egghead to put together a series of tutorials on common data structures and algorithms. Here is the first one, you don't need a paid account, so check it out!

We’re at that fun time in Northern Ireland where UVF flags are going up on the lampposts. This year is extra fun though as they’re flying alongside Isreal flags. So that something!
Find dev work in the US is brutal!

I’ll worry about Copilot taking my job when it can correctly use closing brackets and parentheses
I went to a fancy dress party last night. Ellie and I dressed as Austin Powers and his partner Felicity Shagwell!
It was groovy baby!

Code can be an asset of a liability. The longer it is left unmaintained or out of date, the more likely it is to be a liability. Either treat it like an asset or kill it with fire.
Lofi video game music is the kinda stuff that gets me so deep into work I forget to eat or pee!
Sometimes I wish I could move to Hateno Village and become a farmer. It seems like a peaceful life!
I need to record a few screen recording gifs on Mac. How would you do that?
This is a super interesting article about how to write faster #JavaScript. Most of the time it is more important to write easy to understand code, but it's good to know some of these things for those times where speed matters more.
It is not the domain expert's understanding of the domain that ships to production, it is the developer's interpretation that ships. It is so important that both parties agree on what the domain.
